Hot Spicy Maple Carob Drink

The weather calls for sweaters, crackling fires, and this delicious warming beverage. Spices and carob star in this cold winter recipe that will sure to become a favourite spicy chocolate-like drink.

  • 2 cups almond milk unsweetened
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp carob powder
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup pure
  • 1 piece fresh ginger root peeled, in chunks, to taste
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon to taste
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom freshly ground is best, to taste
  • pinch ground cloves optional


  1. In a blender, blend the almond milk, carob powder, and maple syrup.

  2. Pour into a pot, add remaining ingredients, and place on stove burner. Bring to a boil then turn down heat to low. Let spices infuse for at least 10 minutes.

  3. Use a strainer to remove chunks of spices while pouring into mugs. Add a cinnamon stick for stirring. Enjoy immediately!
